None: Third cranial nerve palsy is ordinarily due to an anatomic lesion at any point along its course. The most serious is a cerebral aneurysm. Steroids are of no value in treatment of anatomic third nerve lesions. Thanks for trusting HealthTap!

Needs evaluation: Third nerve palsy needs a full evaluation of the eye and the brain(nervous system). It depends on the cause of the palsy. It could be from brain which will involves more than one eye movement or localized if its only one muscle movement. If its inflammatory then it may need Prednisone treatment. Please make sure get a full detail professional exam ASAP prior to any steroid use.
