Bell's Palsy: Hgh BP at your age is unusual and often due to a specific cause. There is no normal for Bell's there what is common and what is not. Go touptodate.com and read more then discuss with your team.

Not the usual : Bell's palsy is typically a focal weakness associated with, on occasion hyperacusis, and focal loss of taste. Some tingling would be expected, but not necessarily pain unless this were the Ramsey-Hunt herpes zoster variant. The twitching is also unusual, and may suggest facial myokymia, which again is not typical Bell's. A neurologist should get involved.

Pain with palsy: There can be some neuropathic or local pain, I suspect a drug like gabapentin would help with the former. Taping up the face to prevent muscle pain due to sagging may be helpful. I wonder if botox can be is used for this?

Other options : There are some early studies suggesting that IVIG maybe curative for Bell’s palsy if started within a week or so of presentation. Talk to your physician about this off label use for this biologic. It will not affect your blood sugars.
