You do not want information from a Dr who has never seen or examined the elderly gentleman. Ask the Drs taking care of him. Complicated problem.

The team will most likely bring in a speech pathologist to coach him with voice therapy and may also assess his swallowing capabilities as aspiration can be problematic. If the paralysis doesn't resolve surgery or bulk injections may help. I favor a specialist at a department of otolaryngology at a university hospital to perform such procedures.
