You don't: You likely have herpes oticus, not bell's palsy. Bell's palsy is a facial nerve palsy in which the cause cannot be determined. Herpes oticus causes a painful seventh nerve palsy and is treated with antiviral medications. Regardless, your treatment needs to be determined by your physician who monitor the progress.
