Hi i need help my boy is 18mts and i have given him amoxicillin 4 times instead of 3 will he be ok ?

O.k.: You do not worry about it, he is going to be O.K He may get a little diarrhea . If so give more fluids to drink. Going forward, give him Amoxicillin 3 times (every 8 hours).

Yes: amoxicillin is not toxic, so if your son had an extra dose he will be okay. More isn't better, but it's not dangerous. The prescribed dose is the best dose. Actually it would probably be worse if you "under dosed" your son, as opposed to giving an extra dose, because the bacteria would have a better chance of surviving! So don't worry, but try not to do it again! :)

Most likely: Unless your son has an allergy to Amoxicillin, an extra dose should only cause a bit of loose stools, nothing else significant!!
