It may: Depending on the underlying cause, it certainly may recur,... for example if you drink a lot of alcohol, or eat a lot of trigger foods that can cause an ulcer or esophagitis, and after treatment, you resume those activities, than it can certainly come back. If healed though and you are good, it hopefully would have less a chance of recurring.
