Poor thing!: It could be teething, esp if he is drooling, trying to chew on things, or has swollen gums. Try different things to find something he will chew on. Use Ibuprofen for severe pain; oragel can cause a reaction called methemoglobinemia and teething tablets are just placebos - any effect is likely from the sugar in the pills. If it doesn't seem to be teething, best to visit your pediatrician. Good luck

Quite possible: Yes, Teething can start at 3 or 4 months and symptoms will include irritability and mild fever,You should see your pediatrician to rule out anything else. Normally the baby will be touching or rubbing his or her gums. You should check his/her mouth and try to rub the gums with some Orajel for babies.
