About

Bio

I used to be a molecular biologist, and went back to school at age 30 to become a doctor. I went to Milwaukee for med school, during which I realized I wanted to be a pediatrician more than anything. I did my residency at Loma Linda in SoCal, and now practice in Western Oregon.

Specialties
Doctors may have more than one area of specialty interest. Board certification in a specialty area means the doctor has completed formal training and has practice experience in that specialty, and has passed the certification examination from the corresponding accredited medical specialty board.

Chicken pox?: hard to say without seeing the rash, but pain and rash can be from chicken pox, which starts out as red bumps on the chest that spread to the head and limbs and develop as small blisters filled w clear fluid. Chicken pox can have complications in adolescents so see a Dr - call first, they may want to bring u in through the back to prevent spread

Prob not pertussis: both of u being vaccinated recently make pertussis less likely. Good idea 2 b careful of any illnesses around ur baby though. all family members should b vaccinated against flu and pertussis. With ur symptoms, I would see a doctor to see if u have pneumonia, bronchitis, etc.

Hard to say: w/o more info, I would guess is that is a viral exanthem, which are harmless rashes caused by viral illnesses. Another possibility is something called acrodermatitis, which is a skin rxn against viruses and in some cases vaccines. Also harmless; antihistamines and steroid creams (like hydrocortisone), calamine lotion will help with the itch. The rash should resolve on its own.
