Diabetes.: Diabetes is essentially a problem with handling and use of ingested sugar. A fasting blood sugar of 126 or greater does put you in a diabetic range, especially if this is replicable. If this test was non fasting, then up to 200 can be acceptable.

Repeat fasting labs: Diabetes is high blood sugars. If your fasting sugar is more than 125 it increases risk of diabetes. However, you need a repeat test to confirm. Your doctor can perform a hemoglobin A1c, an average of your sugar in the past 3 months. If can help determine if you have diabetes or are at risk for diabetes. You can start by stopping sugary drinks, weight loss and exercise to prevent diabetes.

Diabetes: A fasting plasma glucose value of 126 mg/dl or greater or a 2-hr plasma glucose value of 200mg/dl or greater during an oral glucose tolerance test is diagnostic of diabetes. So by definition you have diabetes.Diabetes is progressive deterioration of insulin secretion and action from the pancreas.
