Visit doc for cold, found out bp is 152/96 103 heart rt. (anxious) nurse put me on lisinopril. also told me from old blood test i have t2 diabetes, hyperthyroid & hyperlipidemia. get another option before i take these meds? never been on bp meds b4.

Blood pressure: I suspect your blood pressure was previously high as it would be highly unusual to start antihypertensives due to an isolated high blood pressure, specifically when sick. It also sounds that based on older blood tests, a bunch of diagnoses were formulated as well. At a minimum you should be checking your blood pressure whenever possible, reduce salt intake, lose weight if applicable.
