You are on maximum: treatment!!!! It sounds like you may have "asthmatic bronchitis" a nasty, prolonged condition which is very difficult to treat. BE PATIENT and take the prescribed medications religiously!!! If this persists beyond two weeks you should see a Pulmonologist for a workup which may involve Pulmonary Function testing and a Chest X ray! Hope this helps DR Z

Cough: Many possible causes of persistent cough. Have you had a chest X-ray yet? Probably should. Pulmonary function testing is also appropriate. You should also consider a cardiac (heart) evaluation if none of the pulmonary (lung) treatments seem to help.

? reflux: Often an under recognized cause of cough is GERD: gastroesophageal reflux disease. Stomach contents reflux up the esophagus and can irritate the throat, stimulating cough. OTC Pepcid works for this. Most often, a prolonged cough is multifactorial so the inhaler may be helping. Other strategies that often work are saline nasal washes, and steroid nasal spray. Consider seeing a Cough specialist!
