Could be...: many different causes. Most likely, it is a "post-viral" cough, which is just a chronic irritation from bronchitis. But it could be asthma, stomach acid reflux, allergies, or post nasal sinus drainage. If you smoke, you should quit, and you can try prescription cough suppressants for a week or so before you get worried. It is not abnormal for the cough of a viral bronchitis to last 4-6 weeks!
