Ovarian cyst: Depending upon the type of cyst sometimes birth control pills may be used. If the cyst is symptomatic and needs removal, laparoscopic surgery is employed. If it is inordinately large or complex there are occasions when it may be necessary for the gyn surgeon to open you up and remove the cyst.
