Prozac (fluoxetine) poop out: Yes these drugs are similar to Prozac (fluoxetine) in affecting serotonin. Serotonin may cause 'the brakes' to be applied to dopamine (Think ENERGY/ ENJOYMENT/ FOCUS). Nortriptyline also enhances your epinephrine so it's poop out is not as common or severe as with drugs like Prozac (fluoxetine). Also the nortrtiptyline blood level needs to be checked- it may be too high or low and cause such symptoms.

Probably, but ?: They also work to resist the re-uptake of similar chemicals and often cause 'apathy' as a side effect. But, not for everyone. You might be the rare type who does well w/ it. Read about it, especially the section on pharmacology: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tricyclic_antidepressant Best!
