Consider switch: In general it is not wise to add another medication to treat a side effect, unless the original medication is doing a stellar job in every way except for the single side effect. After all, you might have a side effect with the added one, & then you need another for it & so on. There are many other SSRIs & other medications similar that may be effective without apathy instead of Prozac (fluoxetine). Good luck!

Yes and no: It's one thing to give patients undergoing cancer chemotherapy symptomatic treatments for weight loss, headaches, nausea and vomiting. Cancer treatments are toxic. That's why they work. It's quite another to treat side effects of 1 psychoactive drug with another psychoactive drug. If at all possible, find a more tolerable antidepressant instead.
