A member asked:

Do psychiatric medications actually cure anything, or do they just alleviate symptoms while you're on them? don't symptoms always return if you stop?

This is similar: to your previous question. Sometimes the medications allow e the symptoms enough for the person to learn new coping skills and then they are able to stop taking the medications. Other times they need to stay on the medications. People with bipolar for instance need to stay on them and remain in psychotherapy.
