ANA patterns: ANA is antibodies to cell nucleus.Normally we do not make antibodies to self. > 1;160 is found in autoimmune/connective tissue disease like lupus /scleroderma. Patterns differ with disease. Lupus is homogenous/speckled, whereas scleroderma can be speckled and nucleolar ( env). More testing like antiSmith/topoisomerase is needed. Correlate with symptoms. Follow with Rheumatologist.
