It does happen: Polyps do occur in many folks but most people are not checked for them until older years(recommended age for colonoscopy being 50 years). But as long as the polyps are removed, you should be safe. But why did you have colonoscopy in the first place? Your doctor will likely ask you to have repeat colonoscopy in future sometime in the next 3- to 5 years just to be sure that new ones do not develop.

It depends: It depends the biopsy results. Some polyps are very benign and pose no risk for cancer progression. The question is why did you get a colonoscopy at age 25? Something else must have been going on.
