Patterns: Inner ear vestibular neuronitis causes constant intense vertigo for several days to a few weeks, and often is accompanied by intense nausea, vomiting, and imbalance. Intermittent vertigo would suggest benign positional causes, or less commonly, perilymphatic or endolymphatic fistula. Audiological/otological testing by ENT specialist can uncover causation.
