Not infection itself: Prednisone helps many many situation, but unfortunately it does not help the infection, but actually may make it worse. However, severe infection can cause much imflammation and Prednisone is a very powerful anti-inflammatory medication, which can be quite helpful in case of swelling as in severe strepthroat, mono etc..It may help with your vertigo. Follow yr doc's instruction carefully. Good luck.
