See allergist: This is not an uncommon side effect from inhaled steroid, which can weaken your vocal cord muscle or cause a fungal infection at the throat. Consult an allergist to find out if the inhaled steroid dose can be reduced by adding a long-acting bronchodilator or Singulair (montelukast). Using an Aerochamber for the inhaler may help as well.
