Bronchodilators: Medications that help open up the airways when treating diseases such as asthma or COPD are available with a few different mechanisms of action. It depends whether the person is acutely sick on top of underlying lung disease or if it's stable underlying lung disease. Most of these medications are meant to slow further decline of FEV1.
