Had an asthma attack a week ago (pefr, fev1, spo2 dropped to low end of the green zones) , took 3+ days to get the numbers back to normal. should i ask about a nebulizer?

Yes: I believe your asthma was not under control even though when you didn't feel any symptom prior to the attack . Thus you need to get a lung function test to find out whether you need a controller drug to prevent another attack. It is now believed that each exacerbation causes some permanent loss in lung function . All patients with asthma should have a rescue (albuterol) inhaler on hand.
