More info needed: I believe when you call in you may be able to request speaking with a certain type of specialist on HealthTap. Or, often if you speak to someone living in your state, she/he may be able to give you the name of a specialist practicing in your area. I hope this answers your question. Good luck!

For what purpose?: Anyone can see any physician; referrals only a suggestion of someone believed to be of some assistance (on whatever basis). One best referral basis has long been from others who have seen several physicians. This now includes looking on the net for free-form written ratings of physicians. Conversely, referral sometimes refers to money/3rd party payer payment; HealthTap=no benefit for this purpose.
