Splenomegaly: If you are truly concerned that you have mononucleosis, enlargement of the spleen should be a concern. Not everyone develops splenomegaly, but when it occurs it usually start about two weeks after symptoms of infection develop. An enlarged spleen is usually easy to palpate (feel) by an experienced examiner.
