Spleen enlargement: after mono usually resolves after several months, but recurrent viral infections can cause delayed return to normal size. An ultra sound can give a better measure of the true size in contrast to palpation below the rib margin. Other conditions can cause enlarged spleen as well, so further blood work may be indicated if splenomegaly persists.
