A member asked:

I am a 19 year old vegetarian male who exercises infrequently, usually rock climbing, but my resting heart rate is 46 bpm. is this abnormal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No worry: Are you on any medication that slows the heart rate? Your heart rate may slow down especially at rest and increase with activity. If your heart rate is slow and you feel dizzy or ill, some intervention may be required. However, if your heart rate increases with activity, and you have no symptoms, that's OK.
