I am a 45 year old female weighing 145 lbs that has always been active. i have started bootcamp classes within the past month. my resting heart rate is 68 bpm and 196 bpm during intense workouts. is that a something to be concerned about?

You're exceeding the recommended target heart rates for vigorous exercise in your age group. Those rates are between 146 to 160 or so. If you're physically fit your heart rate quickly slows within the first minute and should return to your normal resting rate in about 7-8 minutes. You should note significant improvement in fitness after 4-6 weeks but longer for peak fitness.These are guidelines.
