WNL: It is within normal limits... some have deep pits and fissures, some don't. It is certainly not abnormal. The pits should be carefully monitored for carious lesions.

Yes, Quite Normal: Deep pits/grooves in back teeth are completely normal. Unfortunately, many of these pits/grooves are so deep and narrow that they can't be cleaned, even if you brush multiple times a day. That's why over 90% of all cavities form there. If you can "seal" them before you get decay, that's a wonderful option. If you already have cavities there, get them fixed asap, before they get bigger and hurt.
