A member asked:

I experience nimbness on my arms when sleeping what could be causing the numbness?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Numbness at night: People with carpal tunnel syndrome commonly wake up with numbness or pain in the hands or arms. For pain on one side, lying on the arm the wrong way and putting pressure on a nerve for an extended period of time can cause the same symptom. Other causes exist, but individual diagnosis requires history and exam and is beyond the scope of this forum. If it occurs repeatedly, best to get seen.
