There are several things that can cause numbness coming out of sleep. Most are positional, meaning that you slept in such a position that puts pressure on a nerve for a pronlonged period resulting in numbness. For example, sleeping with your wrists flexed can provoke carpal tunnel symptoms while sleeping with your elbows flexed can cause cubital tunnel syndrome.
