A member asked:

I'm 2 week pregnant , how sensitive is the baby to stress? (i'm just a little stressed and anxious about telling my mom)

Stress in common: Humans have had babies for 1000s of years in stressful situations. While minimizing stress is ideal, worrying about the stress will lead to more stress! Congratulations.

Not TOO SENSITIVE...: People under acute stress release hormones that have effects all over the body. To be worried over how best to tell your mother... is NOT going to harm the fetus. That would fall into the category of "The Ups and Downs of everyday life"! Not all "stress" is "bad" and sometimes works to stimulate the nervous system. Prolonged, repeated, severe "stress" is what we'd be concerned about- for both!
