There : There are other many other reasons besides pregnancy that can cause a woman to miss a period such as: stress, diet, excessive exercise, illness or a hormone imbalance such as with a thyroid disorder or poly cystic ovarian syndrome. Also, at your age, it could definitely be peri-menopause, also. If you continue to not have your period or if they become consistently irregular, you should contact your doctor. They can send various blood tests and may be able to find out why your period is irregular.
