are there any interactions between chicory root and prozac (fluoxetine). i heard that chicory is a good coffee alternative and i would like to try it. thanks?

Coffee substitute: Chicory root appears to have no known adverse interactions with any drugs. It may cause skin, respiratory, or intestinal allergies and it may induce uterine contractions...therefore it is not recommended in pregnancy. So if you are not pregnant or allergic to it, taking it with Prozac (fluoxetine) may be OK.
