Is it ok to take siberian ginseng daily for people who are stressed. are there any major interactions with ssris like prozac (fluoxetine)?

Probably: I am unaware of significant interaction with prozac (fluoxetine). Siberian ginseng can slow down how fast some drugs are excreted (1a2&2c9), but Prozac (fluoxetine) is not greatly effected (minor effect only at 2d6). The effectiveness would depend on what type of stress u are trying to address and the quality of the product u buy. For info please see http://www.Nlm.Nih.Gov/medlineplus/druginfo/natural/985.Html.

Could be some: I checked naturaldatabase.Com -- which says that siberian ginseng may inhibit both cytochrome p450 2d6 as well as 2d9. Prozac (fluoxetine) is metabolized by these same enzymes, so its metabolism could take longer, and build up in your system. These are potential interactions only, but you asked. Rhodiola rosea is another adaptogenic herb that may help depression. It has no interactions at all with prozac (fluoxetine).
