Just being diabetic: should not cause any false positives. Certain medications can cause a positive result, as well as certain foods.

Probably not but ...: What is being looked for is the value of the glucose in the blood at that moment that the blood is drawn. It is very specific for the amount of glucose. If you ate a food containing glucose or another carb which could be converted to it not too long before the blood was drawn then the value of the glucose would rise. A better test which looks back 90 days is Hemoglobin A1c.
