I found out that ca 19-9 test helps diagnose pancreatic cancer. and type two diabetic are at a high risk for it . why isnt this test offered as a screening for diabetics or in general ,? im worried of my risk because im type 2 diabetic / pre?

CA 19-9 is not a good screening test for pancreatic cancer, nor are any other laboratory tests. Given the low level of added risk for diabetics, screening tests for pancreatic cancer would generate too many false positive results that would add to the anxiety and may result in unwarranted investigations.
