Why do orthopedic surgeons not do 2nd surgeries on the hand/wrist? they are telling me that it is not so simple going through the scar tissue.

Depends: AS the wrist and hands have multiple bones and joints, needing fine motor movements, one can imagine the hesitation to limit the number of surgeries to avoid unnecessary scar formation, which would interfere with those movements and needed flexibility. In the meantime, pl continue to employ OT/PT to maximize strength.
