CDC guidelines: According to the CDC children need 3-4 doses of the hepatitis B vaccine at the following ages for best protection: First dose at birth (within 12 hours if the mother has hepatitis B infection) Second dose at 1 through 3 months Third dose at 6 through 18 months of age

Hepatitis B vaccine: The vaccination schedule most often used for adults and children has been three intramuscular injections, the second and third administered 1 and 6 months after the first. Recombivax HB® has been approved as a two dose schedule for those aged 11-15 years. Twinrix® has also been approved as a four dose accelerated schedule. Go and finish the course for your baby.
