Lab data: Lab tests are seldom an indicator of anything unless examined in the context of a clinical presentation. You do not say what form of kidney disease your twin has. My suggestion would be to sit down with your family doctor and have a lengthy chat about risk factors, etc. You might also have included your serum BUN and Creatinine, although even that may, by itself, not provide an adequate answer.

Lab results: The GFR of 51 is an estimated value. The normal range for GFR is 60 to 120. After age 60, a person's GFR will slowly decline. Your estimated GFR of 51 may simply be an aging change. It may reflect very mild disease, alternatively. A urine sample to check for cells and protein will help. What kind of kidney disease exists in twin sister?
