It can: In blastic crisis where the CML transform into an acute leukemia- you can be presented with high amount of white blood cells. Now, acute kidney injury can happen in 3 different scenarios- leukostasis- injury to the kidney can happen due to the high amount of white blood cells, tumor lysis syndrome, or due to chemotherapy for the acute leukemia.
