A member asked:

How does my dr know if wellbutrin (bupropion) sr or regular wellbutrin (bupropion) is right for me? how are they different aside from release mechanism?

No difference: The only difference between the two is the delivery mechanism and need to take the SR 2 x day. I notice that you have anxiety but not depression listed as a condition. I have found Wellbutrin (bupropion) to help with depression but often make anxiety worse and encourage you to discuss this with your doctor. Hope you feel better.

Same medication: Release mechanism is the only difference, but it is an important benefit. The shorter half life medication. Welbutrin tends to be associated with more disrupted sleep then the more extended release versions.
