A member asked:

3 yr w h/o poor growth, ^ calprotectin & sed rate. biopsy show inactive chronic inflamm in the stomach & acute patchy cryptitis in colon (l >r). dx???

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Inflammation: Sometimes the most frustrating thing about medical work ups is not hearing a DIAGNOSIS. Your child's labs and biopsy all point to inflammation - from what it's still hard to determine but patchy cryptitis is found in both Chron's disease and Ulcerative colitis. The age and the poor growth make me more concerned for Celiac disease. Keep your follow up appt with MD for advice on next step
