IBD: Cryptitis is seen in inflammatory bowel disease, both Crohn's and Ulcerative Colitis, but it also can be seen in other inflammatory conditions of the intestines. It is not a disease itself but a histologic manifestation of several different diseases.Calprotectin is a biochemical test for intestinal inflammation, including inflammatory bowel disease. I hope he is being treated by a pediatric GI Dr.

Experiencing IBD like symptoms since years. had my endoscopy and colonoscopy which was normal but colon biopsies and gastric biopsies show surface ulceration and non specific chronic inflammation, cryptitis, lamina propria inflammation.Diagnosis?
How high an IgA is mildly elevated, moderately elevated, and severely elevated? How long does the infection or inflammation have to go on to cause mild, moderate and severe elevation?
Recent endoscopy w/biopsy (Antrum-only) showed focal IM and was h-pylori negative. Breath test ordered but faultywill repeat. Serum test was IgG- IgM- but IgA+(12.2). Does this show active h-pylori infection? If not, what does the IgA result mean?
3 yr old. Very poor growth. Calprotectin 165, ESR 30, burr cells 1+. Very high IGA. Could this be normal or is something definitely wrong? GI related?
