Swollen lymph node: A CT is neither "negative" nor "positive". CT looks for other possible causes for a swollen node besides the bad tooth. But it is not a "final" diagnostic tool for masses anywhere, including lymph nodes. The node itself gives the best information and while the tooth and infection is likely cause another few weeks observation is appropriate after which biopsy might be indicated.

Months: It can take many months for an enlarged lymph node to resolve, especially if there has been a prolonged infection. It is a good sign that the CT did not show anything abnormal. If it is not resolving make sure to follow up with your physician.
