Personal evaluation: There is no specific length of time that can be attributed to this. Some people have chronically inflamed or swollen lymph nodes from such conditions as allergies. Your own dentist or physician can evaluate your specific situation and advise you properly.

Lymphadenopathy: The lymph nodes, once inflamed, can remain indurated for many weeks to months post procedure - despite antibiotics and resolution of infection. On rare occasions they can even calcify and become firm and never disappear. Sometimes a patient can develop a hematoma (collection of blood within the tissues) that can feel like a lymph node and be firm and slow to disappear too. Apply heat for either.
