Dr. Kathy Robinson
32 years experience female
50 Dunnwood Road, Asheville, NC, United StatesDirections
I have been a family physician for 20 years. I have worked in private practice, in hospital medicine and in public health. I love helping patients take control of their health and develop healthier lifestyles. I believe that patients have a right to excellent medical care and accurate understandable information about their conditions. I am now retired from full-time practice. I volunteer at the free clinic in town and teach western medicine classes to acupuncture students.

A 37-year-old female asked:
Not long-term: If you are considering a tubal ligation then there are no long term side effects in most people. The only possibility would be pain if scarring and adhesions developed but this is very rare. If there are no complications such as bleeding with the procedure, then there should not be any long term health related issues.
A 24-year-old female asked:
Use backup : IUDs do occasionally come out. if you think this is the case then make sure you use a back up pregnancy protection plan until you can see your doctor. If you are uncomfortable then you could go to an urgent care clinic for an immediate evaluation.
A 31-year-old female asked:
Many causes: Many things can cause a skipped period or two including hormonal changes, stress, infection and pregnancy. If you have taken multiple pregnancy tests then that is not likely. If you have any other symptoms including pain, fever, or vaginal discharge then you should see a physician right away. If not then likely you will begin your period soon.
