sprained ankle pretty badly 8 weeks ago. while pain is improving and i'm almost walking normally, my ankle still swells up during the day, is that ok?

Reinjury: If you didn't let your ankle heal properly with rest for several weeks, most likely it didn't heal completely and everytime you walk, the inflammation comes back. I would see an orthopedic doctor.

Yes: It's very common to have increasing swelling throughout the day for weeks or months after an injury to the soft tissues. Gravity is your enemy; put it up high whenever you can. A wrap during the day is ok too.
