Listen to your body: Yoga is a wonderful form of exercise which has many variations and allows for accommodations based on ability. Take it slow and listen to your body. If a position or movement hurts - stop. Find an instructor who is willing to work with you to get maximum benefit while helping you find the safest way to do the poses. Namaste!

Ask your surgeon: Often the screws or plate is left in permanently after a major foot surgery like you had done. The flexibility of the mid-foot is permanently stiff after a fusion. Your ability to perform the up dog and down dog and all the other Yoga positions will be determined by the approval of your surgeon and any pain you have with such positions.
