Calories count: Losing weight is really a matter of taking in less calories than your body uses. That way your body will burn fat (or muscle) to provide the energy you need. Wheat will not stop you from losing weight, but if the cereal has sugar it may contain more calories than you realize. Ideally you track your caloric intake daily if you are looking to lose weight.

No: Bara, unless you have celiac disease (unlikely), then wheat will not stop you from losing weight. Just be sure to eat a diet high in whole foods and plant foods, and avoid processed sugar and oils. Don't forget regular exercise. Hope this helps!
